The SouthPark area of Charlotte borders on the communities of Myers Park, Dillworth and Eastover. Residents of this community enjoy the timeless architectural advantages of classic homes. SouthPark is provincial in nature and is the established area of Charlotte. Architecturally, the homes in this area are designed as English Tudor, French Provincial, Colonial and American. Many of these homes are on large lots with trees and extensive landscaping. Home prices in these communities range across the board and can go up into the million of dollars. Communities are a combination of gated and traditional. Higher density housing can be found here as well with town homes available. Residents of this area of Charlotte enjoy the highest end of shopping in the region. SouthPark Mall and is the home of 175 stores including Neiman Marcus, Belks, Nordstroms, Dillards, Macys, Tiffany´s, Izod, Tommy Bahama, Crate & Barrel, etc. The mall grounds also include an amphitheater which host the Summer Pops in the Park series of concerts and is utilized for other manager events throughout the year. Phillips Place is another high end retail establishment.
Some of the very best restaurants in the area are located around SouthPark mall. Residents of the area can enjoy the Palm, PF Changs, Ruth Chris, Mortons, McCormick and Schmicks, the Cheese Cake Factory, Magiano´s, the Village Tavern and more. Boutiques and antique shops are available around the SouthPark mall area.
Public schools in the area are anchored by Myers Park High School which ranks 16th in the country as ranked by Newsweek Magazine top 1,100 high schools. Private schools in the area include Charlotte Country Day School, Providence Day School and Charlotte Christian to name a few. The area also has youth recreational sports leagues and YMCA´s available. Country clubs in the area are Carmel Country Club, Quail Hollow Country club (host of the Wachovia Championship) and Myers Park Country Club. |
